The Recession

In that I've got food and shelter, the hell with it.....let them eat cake. If you have had to live through adding a room to your house, I'd say America deserves what it gets. Granted, one does not expect plumbers to be on top of the food chain. However, it would be nice if we could return to the time when American craftsmen were just that, craftsmen.

It seems like the most sub contractors are just interested in getting the job done and getting out and off to the next job. As an example, the plumbers installed the tankless water heater on an outside wall without using a level. The heater is rectangular, so it was easy to see. They had to return to do it correctly. Also, when they ran the flex gas line for the new heater, they let it lay on the ground. The inspector noticed this, even though it was not specifically part of the permitted room addition, and they had to return and elevate the line from the front of the house to heater.

Well, this is ONE example of fine, American craftsmanship.
